The United Nations University

The United Nations University (UNU) is a global think tank and postgraduate teaching organisation headquartered in Japan. The mission of the UN University is to contribute, through collaborative research and education, to efforts to resolve the pressing global problems of human survival, development and welfare that are the concern of the United Nations, its Peoples and Member States. In carrying out this mission, the UN University works with leading universities and research institutes in UN Member States, functioning as a bridge between the international academic community and the United Nations system. Through postgraduate teaching activities, UNU contributes to capacity building, particularly in developing countries.

University of East Anglia

The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH)
 

 

The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH) is a world-class research organisation focusing on land and freshwater ecosystems and their interaction with the atmosphere. Uniquely, CEH integrates UK-wide observation systems and curiosity driven research, from the smallest scale of genetic diversity to large-scale, whole-Earth systems. We work across disciplines and facilitate academic, public, private and voluntary sector partnerships. CEH’s extensive, long-term monitoring, analysis and modelling deliver UK and global environmental data, providing early warnings of change and management solutions for our land and freshwaters.

University of Minnesota

The University of Minnesota is one of America's Public Ivy universities, which refers to top public universities in the United States capable of providing a collegiate experience comparable with the Ivy League. Founded in 1851, The University of Minnesota is categorized as a Doctoral University – Highest Research Activity (R1) in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[10] Minnesota is a member of the Association of American Universities and is ranked 14th in research activity with $881 million in research and development expenditures in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015.

Purdue University

Purdue University is a public research university in West Lafayette, Indiana, and the flagship campus of the Purdue University system. The university was founded in 1869 after Lafayette businessman John Purdue donated land and money to establish a college of science, technology, and agriculture in his name. The first classes were held on September 16, 1874, with six instructors and 39 students. Purdue University is a member of the Association of American Universities and is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity" Purdue has 24 American astronauts as alumni and as of April 2019, the university has been associated with 13 Nobel Prizes.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is the first autonomous research university in Singapore. International Science Council (ISC)

The International Science Council (ISC) is a non-governmental organization with a global membership of national scientific bodies (121 Members, representing 141 countries) and international scientific unions (31 Members). ISC has launched a new research programme on Urban Health and Wellbeing and IUE was selected to host the International Programme Office after a six-month open competition.

Urban Health and Wellbeing Programme (UHWB)

The Urban Health programme is a 10-year interdisciplinary research effort whose overall aim is to generate policy-relevant knowledge that will improve health status, reduce health inequalities and enhance the well-being of urban dwellers. It will focus on the integration of natural, social, medical and engineering sciences using systems approaches to address the complexity of urban issues and their influence on health. The International Programme Office will be led by an Executive Director. It will support the work of an international Scientific Committee which is responsible for overall scientific planning. Funding for five years has been secured from the Institute of Urban Environment, Xiamen Municipal Government, China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is a public university located in Hung Hom, Hong Kong. The history of PolyU can be traced back to 1937, and it assumed full university status in 1994. It is one of the funded institutions of the territory's University Grants Committee (UGC).
PolyU has an international faculty and student community and has developed a global network with more than 440 institutions in 47 countries and regions. PolyU offers 220 postgraduate, undergraduate and sub-degree programmes for more than 32,000 students every year. It is the largest UGC-funded tertiary institution in terms of number of students.

City University of Hong Kong

 

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is a public research university in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was founded in 1984 as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and became a fully accredited university in 1994. It is one of eight government-funded degree-granting tertiary institutions with five colleges and four schools.
IUE signed the Cooperation Memorandum on Establishing “Joint Research Centre of Urban Agriculture for Sustainable Development” with City University of Hong Kong, August 18, 2011. The two parties promised to invest money each year in the operation of the centre which targets to provide an open platform for sharing experimental instruments and enhance the exchange of staff and students.

Taiwan Association of Soil and Groundwater Environmental Protection

Taiwan Association of Soil and Groundwater Environmental Protection (TASGEP) is a non-profit social organization established by law. The aim of the association is to strengthen the cooperation among those engaged in polluted site investigation, remediation, rehabilitation, soil and groundwater environmental protection in order to promote the effective use of environmental resources and the environmental protection of soil and groundwater.
IUE co-organized a Cross-Straits Workshop on Evaluation and Repairing Technologies of Soil and Groundwater Pollution from May 29 to 31, 2013. The workshop promoted the signature of the Agreement on Establishing Joint R&D Centre of Treatment Technology for Cross-Straits Polluted Sites between the two parties. The centre is scheduled to be established on May 26, 2014. In the future, the centre will enhance bilateral cooperation through joint research, project application and staff exchange.
