At the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Urban Pollutant Conversion of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Kaisong ZHANG Research Group, Dr. Rong Youmin, Department of Materials, Oxford University, visited the Institute of Urban Environment on May 10, 2016 and made an academic report entitled "Synthesis and Characterization of New Two-dimensional Semiconductor Materials Following Graphene".
Dr. Rong Youmin mainly introduced his main research results during his Ph.D. period. In particular, the largest single-layer tungsten disulphide single crystal was synthesized by chemical vapor deposition method at that time. Then, the grain boundaries of tungsten disulphide were characterized by oxidation under ordinary optical microscopy, and it was found that the single-layer tungsten disulphide grain boundaries possessed under high bias voltage. Characteristic of easy electroluminescence. Dr. Rong Youmin and the teachers and students discussed the synthesis and characterization of tungsten disulphide in depth and in a warm atmosphere.
