On Jan.9th, 2009, Pro.Gao Zanming, Vice President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a group of professors visited IUE.
In the morning of Jan.9th, 2009, Prof. Teng Jinguang, Prof. Li Xiangdong, Prof. Yang Hongxing, Prof.Ding Xiaoli, Pro.Li Xiangzhong and Prof. Pan Zhisheng made intriguing presentations and discussions with staff and graduate students of IUE. Presided by Pro.Zhu Yongguan, Deputy Director of IUE, the PIs of IUE consulted with the guests about their research developments and future planning in the afternoon. Prof.Gao, Vice President of PolyU overviewed the university’s background, features, together with its collaboration history and conception with mainland. Prof.Zhao Jingzhu, Deputy Director of IUE, concluded the discussion by stressing on cooperation of mechanism and programs. He emphasized that future urban environment research should not only solve problems arisen but also study the inherent law of urban development This coincided with HK PolyU’s intending strategy, which will compose a complementary win-win situation. Both sides also framed out major collaboration fields, which will lead to comprehensive cooperation in academic exchange, co-culture graduate students, personnel visits, joint applications of programs, building Urban Environment and Health Lab, building Urban Environment Research Center of Energy-saving&Emission Reduction.
