Scientific Instrument Center（SIC）is a collection of analytical instrumentation supported by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Xiamen Municipal Government. SIC provides state-of-the-art research facilities for all students and researchers at the Institute, and these instruments provide a wide variety of advanced methods for chemical and physical characterization and quantification of individual components in complex mixtures to fit the needs of variety of urban environmental related search programs. As a public service，these facilities are also available to the community, includes local colleges as well as the industrial sector.  

These instruments are maintained and updated by expert staff includes four Ph.D.and five master or graduate assistants who help in charge of the daily operation of the instrument and to provide instruction, guidance and research collaboration with respect to instrumentation contained in the center.

Scientific Instrument Center is located on the first and second floor of the Science building.
