Study on the mechanism of migration and transformation of antimony species between the air-water-soil interface based on a new selective monolithic column

Project categories: National Natural Science Foundation of China
Person in charge: Jia Xiaoyu
Execution time: 2016.01-2018.12
The function of element is largely dependent on the species in the sample, different species of antimony lead to different migration and transformation mechanism in environment and metabolic pathways in organism. The antimony compounds is circulated in atmosphere, water, sediment and biology, through the food chain bioaccumulationand amplification, result in a serious threat to human health. Therefore, in order to accurately evaluate the hazards of antimony to environment and human, study the migration, transformation and the destination of antimony in environment, it is necessary to establish a effective analytical method of separation, identification, and determination of various forms of antimony compounds. Monolithic column material as a novel extraction material has potential applications in the field of inorganic pollutants separation. In this proposal, antimony species were selected as the target analytes, functionalized poly(p-bromomethyl)styrene based monolithic column was prepared, and hyphenated to the HPLC-ICP-MS for on-line separation, preconcentration and detection, then antimony migration and transformation mechanism between environmental samples was considered via the indoor simulation experiment. This study could provide a new theoretical guide and practical experience in the separation and analysis of inorganic pollutants field, thus are of great academic significance to intercrossing of chemistry, materials, environment and health disciplinary.
