Hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs), as an additive brominated flame retardant (BFR), are the third most produced BFR and HBCDs have been detected in practically all environmental media. The potential risk of HBCDs in environment have been paid attention by scientists.Recent studies indicated that HBCDs are ubiquitous organic contaminants and fulfill some characteristics of persistent organic pollutants (POPs): bioaccumulation, long-range transport and toxicity. However, very few data are available concerning HBCDS affecting on environmet yet. Study of metabolic process was one important content of environmetal toxic studies. In this project, metabolic process of diastereoisomeric HBCDs in fish will be studied by liquid chromatography coupled mass or NMR spectrum. To illustrate mechanism of metabolism of HBCDs in fish, study contents will be included in metabolic dynamics, products of metabolism and paths of metabolism of HBCDs in fish. The achievements of this project will applied to chemical management of HBCDs.
