Research of Assessment System of Non-ecological Landscape Functions and its Application in Practices of Regional Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment

    Date:Sep 22, 2009

Project Title: Research of Assessment System of Non-ecological Landscape Functions and its Application in Practices of Regional Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment

Project Type: National Natural Science Foundation

    Project No.: 40971111

    Project Awardee: Luo Tao

Project Abstract:In this research project we put forward and define the concept and connotation of non-ecological landscape functions. After Investigating and analyzing the problems and needs of protection of non-ecological landscape functions in regional planning, especially in scenic area planning and environmental impact assessment, we systematically analyzed the elements of non-ecological landscape functions and their contribution to these functions. Then we come up with a scientific and objective evaluation system of the non-ecological landscape functions, which should be easy to operate. In the process of system construction, traditional cultural factors should be fully considered, which could be realized through analysis of the impact of traditional Chinese landscape theory and practice as well as aesthetic characteristics of regional culture. The scientific and operability of the evaluation system should be verified in practice. The implementation of this project will help improve the awareness of non-ecological landscape functions protection, and provide a scientific basis for the maintenance of cultural heritage and improve the quality of habitat in economic development and urbanization. For China's regional planning and technological development of environmental impact assessment, there is an important practical significance.

    Period of Project: 2010.1-2012.12

    Fund of Project: 350,000 RMB
