    Development of safe drinking water technology for the treatment of polluted source water in Pinghu, Zhejiang Province

    Project Title: Development of safe drinking water technology for the treatment of polluted source water in Pinghu, Zhejiang Province

    Project Abstract: The source water in Pinghu is seriously polluted with NH4+-N and organic matters as the dominant contaminants. The following R&D work was included in this study: (1) the high-efficient biological pretreatment and biological filtration technology, especially the single-stage aerobic deammonification process and its biochemical mechanism; (2) Removal of organic pollutants by two-stage O3-BAC and the optimization of the technical parameters; (3) Characteristics of the microbial ecology in the reactors. The above work was expected to provide scientific supports for the reconstruction of the existed water plants and the process choice for new ones in Pinghu.
