Project Abstract: Poyang Lake, which is the largest freshwater lake in China, can provide an extremely important function of the ecosystem services, and play a pivotal role in maintaining regional and national ecological safeties. Based on the analyses of eco-environmental and socio-economic characteristics and on the prediction analyses, ecological carrying capacity of Lake District and water environmental capacity of the five main water systems and the Lake were investigated systematically, and the influence mechanism of the five main water systems on ecological system of Poyang Lake was preliminarily illuminated. In the last, the planning of water lines of control and of protection was proposed; mechanisms, policies and key works of ecological and environmental protection were presented to provide the theoretical and technical supports for eco-environmental conservations and building eco-economic zone around Poyang Lake.
