A theoretical framework of sustainable urban, including the concept, connotation and measures, will be investigated by combining sustainable development concept and urbanization theory. On the theoretical basis, main characteristics of the current situation have been evaluated through further researches such as resources, population, society, environmental quality in Xiamen. Finally, as the conclusion of these analyses, the keystones of the development of policies and countermeasures for sustainable urbanization in Xiamen will be concluded.
