On 11th, July, the kick-off conference was held in Room 1527 of the complex building on the National key R&D program “Ecotechnology for co-treatment of municipal solid waste such as packaging waste and kitchen waste” which was led by Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). Leaders from IUE, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Donghshi New Energy and Institute of Resources Utilization and Rare Earth Development (formerly Guangdong Institute of Comprehensive Utilization of Resources), and members of the program attended the meeting.

Hosted by Lu Xin, Chief of IUE Science and Technology Office, the conference was held both online and offline. Yu Guangwei, the program leader, with leaders of relevant sub-programs, reported in detail on the implementation plans of their programs. Five experts from Beijing University of Technology, Renmin University of China, Huaqiao University, BGRIMM Technology Group and Zhuzhou Smelter Group Company Limited asked some questions on the plans and provided good suggestions. Huhe Taoli, researcher of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, who is also the chief of the program, after considering all experts’ opinions, specified requirements on refinement on implementation plans, promotion of demonstration projects and etc. Finally, on behalf of the program, Yu thanked the experts’ guidance. He maintained that the program’s members will value experts’ opinions, carefully organize to promote the integration of production, teaching, research and utilization, so as to further advance the application of innovative technology in Dongguan Haixinsha National Resource Recycling Base, and complete the objectives of the program with quality and quantity guaranteed.
