On October 25-27, the 6th Symposium on Disinfection and Disinfection By-product Control, jointly organized by institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Xiamen University, was successfully held in Xiamen. On behalf of Professor Yu Xin, the organizer of the conference delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the conference.

The conference invited Bin Xu, Chun Hu, Mel Suffet, Lan Zhang, Genshu Wang, Chao Chen, Xin Yang, Wenhai Chu, Jingyun Fang and many other well-known experts and scholars in the field of disinfection. At the same time, it also brought together more than 230 participants from universities, research institutes and companies across the country. There were 42 oral reports and 30 posters made in this conference. The number of oral reports, posters and participants was more than the past. At the closing ceremony of the conference, the organizing committee announced the establishment of a disinfection and disinfection by-products working group, which is a milestone for the sustainable development of symposium on disinfection and disinfection by-product control.

At the end of October, although the weather is getting cold, the Xiamen Island is still full of flowers and flowers. Everyone took part in this “family gathering” with a relaxed and happy mood, sharing the latest research results with each other. In the brainstorming of the quiz in the venue, in the inspiration of the seaside walk, we discussed the frontier progress and unsolved mystery of disinfection and disinfection by-products. The suspicion between water-environment-health-development was gradually removed by us.
