Dr. Prosun Bhattacharya, Professor of KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Chair of the 6th International Congress on Arsenic in the Environment (As 2016), visited the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences on March 12 and 13. He was invited by Professor Yong-Guan Zhu, Director of the Key Lab of Urban Environment and Health.
Professor Bhattacharya gave a lecture entitled “Geogenic Arsenic Contamination in Drinking Water Resources: Strategies for Sustainable Mitigation and Safe Drinking Water Production” to researchers and postgraduates, introducing the application of sediment color tool in arsenic-contaminated groundwater and effect it produced. Afterwards, he answered questions from the audience and also discussed the related issues.
Professor Prosun Bhattacharya is the Chair of the 6th International Congress on Arsenic in the Envirorment (As 2016) and Associate Editor of the Journal of Hydrology. He is also a member the Editorial Board of Environment International, Editor in Chief of Groundwater for Sustainable Development, as well as Editor in Chief of Frontiers in Environmental Sciences: Specialty Section on Groundwater Resources and Management.
