The 1st China-Japan (CAS-JST) Workshop on Environment was held at the Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), from February 21 to February 22, 2014.
The workshop was jointly organized by IUE and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and was chaired by Dr. Yongguan Zhu, director general of IUE. Akito Arima, former president of University of Tokyo, and Shoichiro Tonomura, JST executive director, attended the workshop, together with other Japanese scholars from Japan's National Institute for environmental studies, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, University of Tokyo, et al.
During the two-day meeting, the Sino-Japanese scientists delivered speeches on the fields of Environmental Management, Environmental Science and Technology of Atmosphere and Water, as well as Environment and Health. IUE delegates presented at the meeting as well and joined the discussion on current environmental issues.
