From Oct 15-18, The 6th International Symposium on Testate Amoebae was held in IUE, Xiamen. This is the first time such a symposium has been organized in Asia (all previous five sessions were held in Europe). Sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation, the symposium attracted over 40 specialists from China, France, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, and Japan. The symposium focused on “testate amoebae biodiversity and environmental changes” and invited renowned professors, including Academician of CAS, Prof. Zheng Shouyi, and Prof. Edward AD Mitchell of Université de Neuchâ, Switzerland, to give speeches. It has strengthened exchanges and collaborations in testate amoebae research.
One of the selected three “Best Presentation Awards” was Dr. Yu Zheng from IUE.
