The 2nd Meeting ICSU ROAP Science Planning Group on Health and Wellbeing in a Changing Urban Environment was held in IUE during November 1-2. Prof. Yongguan Zhu, Director General of IUE and other five experts, Prof. Indira Nath from India, Prof. Mohd Nordin Hasan from Malaysia, Prof. Anthony Capon from Australia, Dr. Jaime Montoya from the Philippines and Prof. Philippa Howden-Chapman from New Zealand, discussed the relevant issues about health and well-being in a changing urban environment. The main issues they talked about include water, nutrients, food and health; housing, indoor environment and health; transport, land use, outdoor air quality, physical activity and health; urban waste (management) and health; energy and urban metabolism as well as integrated system analysis. They also talked about the challenges we would face and the research methodology we would choose. Finally, the meeting was concluded after each expert’s summary speech.
