“Workshop on knowledge transfer and capacity building for water and sanitation services in Asia and the Pacific”organized by The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) was held from 17-19 February 2009, at The United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop reviewed the preliminary results of the UNESCAP project Pro-poor Water and Wastewater Management in Small Towns. Participants from China, India, Philippine, Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam and Bangladesh discussed the conclusions and materials from the project and brainstormed on existing knowledge gaps and potential follow up activities in this field. Dr. Shaohua Chen, representative of IUE, was invited to give a presentation of the adaption and translation of the e-learning course on training materials and capacity building strategies.
