On 31 March 2008, Prof. B. Larry Li, from University of California, Riverside and Prof. Jizheng He from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, CAS visited IUE. Professor Li gave a presentation entitled “Dynamic complexity of coupled human and nature systems”. Prof. Li gave a brief induction about the definition of ecological complexity, the types of complexity, and reviewed the main research focuses of current ecological complexity studies, the relationship between science and social policy, and how science serves society. The visiting guests had a comprehensive discussion with staff and graduate students of IUE after the presentation.
