On 23-25 January 2008, F. Andrew Smith, Fellow of Royal Academy of Sciences, Australian and Emeritus Professor of Adelaide University, made a special trip to IUE.
First of all, Director Professor Jingzhu Zhao, awarded professor Andrew Smith an Honorary Professor of IUE. Then, Deputy Director Professor Yongguan Zhu introduced working progress of preparation, site construction and medium-long term plans of the institute. Later, Academic Andrew Smith held a Seminar talking about “Writing English-language science articles – increasing your chances of success”.
During his visit, Professor Andrew Smith also went to Xinglin Bay and visited the construction site of IUE.
Academic Andrew Smith graduated from Cambridge University .He is the world’s leading physiological plant ecologist. In the past 10 years, he has visited Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities and colleges dozens of times, actively promoting the scientific and technological cooperation between China and Australia. |
