From 31 October 2007 to 1 November 2007, Manager of the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Xiaolin, Dr. Ma Xiaomin and the manager of the National Scientific Library Chengdu branch Dr. Yang Zhiping and Tian Yajuan, who are responsible for the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences discipline services, visited IUE.

On October 31, Dr. Yang Zhiping and Tian Yajuan introduced the National Science Library’s resource and the newest discipline services to the research institute scientific researchers and graduate students in detail, and provided detailed explanation to the researchers on how to use the data resources.

On November 1, Zhang Xiaolin, and Zhao Jingzhu, Director of IUE and graduate student representatives, continued the discussion. Both parties introduced the respective unit"s most recent development situation, and on the newly built research institute in the future the network development, library talented team construction, information resource construction, third party resources and service cooperation, research institute strategic intelligence research and discipline information research, library space design carried on the wide-ranging exchange.

Director Zhao Jingzhu first thanked the National Science Library for what they have done, and indicated a desire to be the National Science Library each kind of knowledge service system"s experimental site unit which promotes face the research institute. Manager Zhang Xiaolin thanked for adequate affirmation, the Institute of Urban Environment giving to the National Science Library services, and expressed that will provide all advantageous help and the support well, omni-directionally for the newly built development, in the research institute network development, the knowledge storehouse construction and strategic intelligence research aspects give positive support. Manager Zhang Xiaolin also communicated with the research institute scientific researchers and the graduate students on scientific and technical information construction and effective use of resources.
