On Oct 26^th, the project of "Revising Xiamen City Environmental Protection Regulations" undertaken by Lina Tang group held the review meeting in the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS-IUE). Director Huolu Shao and Fanglin Bai of Xiamen Environmental Protection Bureau attended the meeting. Professors, including Tao Luo from Fuzhou University, Changzhou Yan and Jinsheng Chen from IUE, and Associate Professors, including Yangfan Li from Xiamen University and Ning Huang from Jimei University took part in the meeting as experts.

Quanyi Qiu, an Associate Professor of IUE gave an introduction about the participants, as well as the meeting process and the background of project implementation. After listening to and reviewing the final report of "Revising Xiamen City Environmental Protection Regulations" project, experts unanimously affirmed the frameworks and content of the revised draft of Xiamen city environmental protection regulation submitted in the final report. They believed that the revised draft not only could reflect the new demands of ecological and environmental protection supervision and management in the new era, but also conform to the scope of legislative competence of the special economic zone, never conflict with national laws and administrative regulations. After questioning and discussion, the project of” Revising Xiamen City Environmental Protection Regulations” passed the review successfully. At the same time, the experts put forward several revision suggestions of the final report.

The revision of the environmental protection regulations of Xiamen city further connects, complements and improves the current environmental protection system of Xiamen city, providing legal system guarantee for the environmental protection and ecological civilization construction of Xiamen city.
