On September 28^th, Sub-center opening ceremony of CAS Center for Excellence in Regional Atmospheric Environment (hereinafter referred to as Excellence Center) was held in Heifei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASHIPS). Xiaonan Duan, the head of Department of Earth Science of Bureau of Frontier Sciences and Education, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Honghe, chief scientist of Excellence Center, deputy director of Insititute of Urban Environment (IUE), Researcher Jinsheng Chen, deputy director of Excellence Center, Guangli Kuang, dean of CASHIPS and Academician Wenqing Liu of Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM) inaugurated the sub-center. The opening ceremony was hosted by Dean Jianguo Liu. Guangli Kuang, Xiaonan Duan and Honghe made speeches respectively and congratulated for the foundation of sub-center. They hoped, on the basis of good beginning of Excellence Center, CASHIPS can sincerely cooperate with Institute of Urban Environment, the supporting organ of Excellence Center, give full play to research speciality of facilities in AIOFM, make a significant breakthrough in the direction of atmospheric environmental research and make greater achievement in the central region environment pollution problem. As well, they expected that Excellence Center can take the opening ceremony as an opportunity and further perfect discipline connotation of Excellence Center. As the first sub-center of Excellence Center, sub-center of CASHIPS plays an irreplaceable role of core backbone. It not only pefects organization structuring of Excellence Center, but also helps for scientific resources sharing between the co-building organs and the supporting organs. It strengths cooperation and communication between the members of Excellence Center, improves the building of networked management mode and lays a solid foundation for fast promoting the growth of Excellence Center. More than 30 people of CASHIPS and IUE, etc attent the opening ceremony.
