September 7, 2009, a group of 11 members visited Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), including Dr Gottfried Jung, Minister of Environment, Forestry and Consumer Protection of Rhineland-Palatinate,Germany; Prof Peter Heck from Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS), German Trier University of Applied Sciences, Prof You Yii-Der from Graduate School of Environment Engineering, of Taiwan University and Mr William Tze-Ming Gao, Chief Executive Officer, COBRA (Xiamen). 

After touring around the campus, Professor Yongguan Zhu, Deputy Director of IUE briefed on the development of the institute, its main research fields and cooperation advantages. Professor Run Wang highlighted his research group’s external collabaration plan, followed by an in-depth discussion between visitors and other research fellows. IUE and IfaS signed a memo in the area of joint training programme of postgraduates, researchers’ communication and exchange, and environmental technology cooperation.
