On June 17, 2009, the first “CAS-Xiamen Science and technology Exchange and Cooperation Conference” was held in IUE, Xiamen. Ye Chonggeng, Vice Mayor of Xiamen Municipal Government attended the conference and made a speech. Hua Renchang, Standing Deputy Director of Shanghai Branch of CAS, Liang Bo, Deputy Director of Shenyang Branch of CAS, together with leaders and experts from 22 institutes of CAS; 21 Xiamen municipal management departments such as Xiamen Development and Renovation Committee and 6 districts government leaders, as well as high science and technology enterprise representatives from  Xiamen, Sanming and Zhangzhou, totaling 280 participated the conference. 

 21 CAS institutes of CAS brought 112 high –tech achievements and had live exchanges and discussions with enterprise representatives. The recommended technology transformation projects were very popular among the enterprises since they met the technical needs of the local 18 production chains, with high pertinence and application value.
