In the morning of February 25, 2009, the signature and unveiling ceremony of the establishment of “Xiamen Center of Industrial Technology Innovation and Incubation,Chinese Academy of Sciences(XCITII,CAS)”jointly established by CAS and Xiamen Municipal government was held in Xiamen Great Hall of the People.

Chen Yongmao,Deputy Secretary-General chaired the ceremony. After Shi Er Wei, Deputy Head of CAS and Ye Chonggeng, Deputy Mayor of Xiamen Municipal Government specifically gave a warm speech, Deng Maicun, Deputy Secretary-General of CAS and Ye Chonggeng, witnessed by Shi Erwei and Liu Xigui, Deputy Mayor of Xiamen Municipality , together with other relevant leaders from both sides.

Seeking a higher and broader communication and cooperation between Xiamen and CAS, “XCITII,CAS” will mainly base on CAS’s privileges in professionals, sci-tech equipment, research and information resources, combining Xiamen’s favourable policy , environment, enterprise and culture, so as to speed up the exchange of knowledge, transfer of technology and industrialization of research results. With the integration of the three key elements of technology, intelligence and capital, and propped with transfer of construction techniques, “XCITII,CAS” will draw CAS and relating institutes,universities and high-tech enterprises to invest in Xiamen for transfer and incubation, to centralize CAS’s specialists and new high-tech projects, thus to enhance Xiamen’s own creative capacity and promote its sustainable social  economical development.
