On 3rd June, Prof.Bai Chunli, Academician and Vice President of CAS, Pei Jinjia, Vice Mayor of Xiamen Government and a group traveling together inspected IUE accompanied by Professor Zhao, Director of IUE .

Firstly, Prof. Zhao reviewed a comprehensive progresses of the preparation work, and initiated a conception of CAS-Xiamen Research Harvest transformation Base to the distinguished guests. He also appreciated the kindness of interest and support from the Xiamen Municipal Government, and the local universities and institutes.

Vice President Bai fully affirmed the achievements of IUE made in the past years. He emphasized that the strategy of research & technology of IUE should tightly banded with the strategy of the long term development of economy and society of Xiamen municipal government, IUE should provide technical supports for Xiamen sustainable development. The collaborations between IUE and the local institutes and universities should also be intensified by joint research projects, academic communications and education. IUE’s transformation of technical production should be linked to the requirement of local industry development. Finally Prof.Bai encouraged all the staffs of IUE to carry forward the “Loyalty & Endeavour” motto, dare to seek for competition, exploration and enterprise, and conduct innovative projects all the time.
