On April 8, 2008, Dr. Min Du, Deputy Director General of Department of Science & Technology of Fujian Province, visited the IUE accompanied by Dr. Pingdong Xu, Deputy Director General of Xiamen Science & Technology Bureau.

Firstly Prof. Yongguan Zhu showed warm welcome to the guests and gave a brief introduction about history of IUE, current R&D projects, international cooperation, and cooperation between IUE and local governments. Dr. Du affirmed the construction achievements of IUE, and admired the cooperative mode Between IUE and local governments. Du Min visited the construction site of IUE after meeting.
