The international cooperation seminar training class of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held in Wuhan Botanical Garden on 21-22 September 2007. The reports on special topics have been given on invitation which from the National Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Science and Technology Department, Natural Sciences Foundation, the Foreign Expert Bureau and the Science and Technology Association. This conference was attended by 116 leaders and external affair managers from 90 units including the International Cooperation Bureau, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and so on.

The theme of this conference was scientific innovation and international cooperation. The two-day conference consisted of 6 seminars and was held in forms of plenary session and discussion in groups.

Lv Yonglong, director of the International Cooperation Bureau, Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a report on the conference theme of scientific innovation and international cooperation. Meanwhile, Comprehensive Department of International Cooperation Bureau, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office and the International Academic Exchanges Center provided the analysis and answered questions referring to specific methods, rules and operations of international cooperation and external affairs work.

The international cooperation training reports on special topics got high judgement by representatives attending the conference. They made a consensus of abundant information and novel content, providing policy instruction and new ideas for each institute’s international cooperation and external affairs work.
