Prof. Dahe Qin, academic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and previous director of China Meteorological Administration, visited the Institute of Urban Environment (IUE) on  September 28 2007, and had an informal discussion with main scientific researchers of IUE.

Firstly, Prof. Dahe Qin visited IUE’s laboratory. The researcher who is responsible for the laboratory gave him a brief report on its construction and how experiments were unfolded in the lab. At a later meeting, Prof. Jingzhu Zhao also reported on IUE’s work progress of the pre- construction, the construction of the new institute and middle- long-term planning.

Prof. Dahe Qin fully confirmed the progress that IUE had made in the past year. In addition to this, he proposed many invaluable ideas and suggestions on the future development of IUE and donated a suit of monographs named Chinese Climate and Environmental Change to IUE.

Renhe Zhang, President of Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, and Wenjie Dong, Dean of Beijing Climate Center, accompanied Prof. Dahe Qin to IUE.
