    Signing ceremony of MoU between IUE and the University of East Anglia

    On April 12, the Prof. David Richardson of University of East Anglia (UEA) led the delegation of four people visit to IUE and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between IUE and UEA, laying the foundation for further substantive academic cooperation and exchanges between the two parties.

    A brief review of existing cooperation among two parties, and an in-depth discussion on the mechanisms and ways of future cooperation were conducted during the meeting. As a result, the two parties agreed to develop a long-term cooperation in the five areas of urbanization ecological footprint and global climate change, air pollution, urban water quality security, environmental biotechnology and urban geochemistry. Setting up partner teams and establishing a mechanism for joint training of graduate students and young talents will be a next step promoting and achieving substantive cooperation results.

    During the visit, Prof. David Richardson, the president UEA, introduced the general situation, development history, subject direction and innovative research achievements of UEA. Prof. Dabo GUAN of UEA gave an excellent academic report on climate change and international trade. UEA is a famous university in the UK, located in the historic city of Norwich. It ranks the 8th in the scientific research level (REF) organized by the British government. There are 18 colleges and some scientific research institutions. The department of environmental science of UEA is the largest department of environmental science in the UK, and its climate change research field own a high reputation in the world.
