Dr. Flavia Schlegel, Director of Swissnex Shanghai (Swizterland Outpost for Science, Technology and Culture in China) and Swiss Vice Consul General paid a short visit to IUE on June 9. She had a brief discussion with researchers of IUE concerning issues such as factors affecting the design of urban environments of IUE,
how the social sciences are integrated in the planning of urban environments,  
what type of simulation instruments are applied in the individual areas. Mrs. Schlegel also expressed great interest of future cooperation with IUE by facilitating possible financial support.
