IUE plans to recruit 100 postgraduate students every year. IUE offers MS programs in Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Ph.D. programs in Ecology, Environmental Sciences and Engineering, and postdoctoral program in Environmental Sciences and Technology. IUE has a well-furnished postgraduate house.  

Qualified students are encouraged to apply for either the MS or PhD program. Applications for the MS program are accepted, usually in November. Applications for the PhD program are accepted twice a year, usually in November and March. Successful applicants are granted admission into the program that commences the following March or September.
