The Instrumentation and Equipment Experiment Center is a large-scale, open public laboratory affiliated with the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IUE, CAS). It serves as a supporting system for the Institute's scientific research activities and is recognized as an "Institute-Level Technology Service Center" supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences through its selective funding program.
Mission Statement
The Center is dedicated to promoting the sharing of large-scale research instrumentation, enhancing the utilization efficiency of equipment, and fostering interdisciplinary research. It provides an experimental base and public service platform for cultivating high-level talents and conducting cutting-edge scientific research projects at the Institute of Urban Environment. Concurrently, the Center is open to the broader community, undertaking environmental analysis, testing, monitoring services, and technical training. It engages in collaborative research and technical exchanges focused on key environmental issues, contributing to the improvement of local environmental quality, scientific and technological innovation, and economic development.
Overview
The Center covers a total area of over 3,800 square meters (including approximately 800 square meters for the Ningbo Testing Laboratory). It currently possesses large and medium-sized analytical instruments and equipment valued at over 100 million RMB (with the Ningbo Testing Laboratory's equipment totaling approximately 20 million RMB). The instrumentation supports analytical testing across various disciplines, including environmental science, biology, chemistry, and materials science. The Center holds a national qualification for environmental quality testing (Certificate No. 220012163145), enabling it to provide third-party testing services to the public for parameters including air, water/wastewater, soil/solid waste, dioxins, and the physical environment.
The Center currently has a staff of 24 members, including 6 with doctoral degrees and 7 with senior professional titles. Their responsibilities primarily include the daily operation and maintenance of instruments, leading and participating in research projects related to the instrumentation, and providing experimental guidance and regular instrument training.
Public Commitment
The Center commits to adhering to statutory requirements, operating independently and impartially, fulfilling social responsibilities, and upholding honesty and good faith.
